Your Annapurna Circuit with Ice Lake adventure starts in Kathmandu, where the friendly team from Unique Path will greet you at the airport with a flower garland, a traditional Nepali welcome. They will take you to your hotel in Thamel, a busy neighborhood packed with shops, cafes, and restaurants. After you get settled in your room, your trekking guide will explain the details of your trip. The following day, you’ll enjoy a long but beautiful 6-7 hour drive to Besisahar, passing through lovely countryside views. From there, your real trek begins with a short jeep ride to Chyamje, followed by a 5-6 hour walk to Dharapani. During this part of the journey, you’ll walk past bright green rice fields, cross exciting suspension bridges, and see amazing views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.
After leaving Dharapani, you’ll follow a peaceful trail through forests filled with colorful rhododendron and tall pine trees. You’ll pass through small, charming villages like Bagachap and Timang, where you can see your first full view of the huge Mt. Manaslu. When you reach Chame, the main town of the Manang district, you’ll notice the landscape starting to change as you go higher. The next day’s hike takes you to Pisang, where the air feels fresher and colder, and the snowy mountain peaks look even more stunning. On the sixth day, you’ll walk to Braga village, where you can visit an old monastery decorated with beautiful Buddhist paintings and statues before arriving in Manang, a village built in traditional Tibetan style, surrounded by enormous mountains.
To help your body get used to the high altitude, you’ll spend a full day resting in Manang. If you’re feeling energetic, you can take an extra hike up to the incredible Ice Lake, which sits at 4,620 meters above sea level. The next day, you’ll continue your trek to Yak Kharka, where you’ll see yaks eating grass with huge mountains like Gangapurna and Annapurna III in the background. The most difficult but most exciting part of the trip comes on the tenth day—the climb over Thorong La Pass, which is 5,416 meters high. This tough hike rewards you with unbelievable mountain views before you walk downhill to Muktinath, a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Here, you can see the temple’s 108 holy water spouts and the famous natural flame that never goes out.
After visiting Muktinath Temple, you’ll hike to Jomsom, a windy town well-known for its delicious apples and apple products. The next morning, you’ll take a quick flight to Pokhara, where you can relax by the peaceful Phewa Lake or walk around the city’s interesting streets and markets. The day after that, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying Nepal’s beautiful scenery for the last time. On your final day, the team will take you to the airport for your flight home, completing your amazing adventure through the stunning Annapurna region.
