Mardi Himal Trek is an ultimate destination in the least explored and hidden areas of the Annapurna Himalayan belt. Majestic Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’ Peak and Mardi Himal are located above high ridges and rolling hills from the scenic Pokhara valley. Mardi Himal stands at 5,587 meters high, nestled beneath the towering Machhapuchare.

The trek to Mardi Himal is gaining popularity due to its unique scenery and daily excellent views of high snow-capped peaks within a tranquil environment, harmonizing mountains and serene wilderness in the comfort of cozy lodges. This marvelous journey begins with a short drive from the beautiful Pokhara, a famous touristic spot blessed with natural green hills, mountains, and lakes. The drive leads to the starting point of the trek, heading towards high alpine hills within traditional Gurung villages. The route then diverts from the mainstream trekking path, entering dense alpine forests with scenic views of snow-clad peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchare Himalaya, and as far as Dhaulagiri.

ITINERARY

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1,345m/4,412ft).

Welcome to Nepal!! On the day of your arrival our Airport Representative will come and welcome you at the airport. Then you’ll get transferred to the hotel by a private vehicle. Enjoy the rest of your day at our comfortable 3 stars accommodation.

Day 02 Flight to Pokhara and then drive to Pothana, Trek to Pitam Deurali

After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport. On your 25 minutes flight to Pokhara you’ll get to see spectacular mountain views. Drive to Pothana by jeep (2 hours) then trek to Pitam Deurali. The trek will be 3-4 hours. Enjoy the landscape and greenery along the way. You’ll stay our night in a local lodge.

Day 03 Pitam Deurali to Dovan (Walking 5 hours)

Wake up in the early morning and start your hike to Dovan. Your hike will get a little tougher today because you’ll be walking for continuous 6 hours, but your hike will certainly be worthwhile with the Rhododendrons and mountain views along the way. Stay your night in a
local tea house.

Day 04 Dovan to Low Camp (Walking 4:30 hours)

Today your hike will be from Dovan to Low camp. The trek will be 4-5 hours. Enjoy the landscape and the forest walk along the way. Your stay for the day will be at the Low Camp in a Local Lodge.

Day 05 Low camp to High Camp ( Walking 4:30 hours)

Wake up early in the morning and start your hike to the High Camp. Today you’ll walk for 5-6 hours uphill where you’ll get to see breathtaking mountain views. Enjoy the wildlife encounters, floras and faunas along the way. You’ll stay the night at a guest house in the High Camp.

Day 06 High camp to Mardi Himal base camp 4,250m and then trek back to High camp. (Walking 7 hours)

Today you’ll get to see what you came all the way for, the closest view to Mardi Himal from the base camp. The walk today will be of 7-8 hours for we will be getting to base camp and trekking back to High Camp at once. Enjoy the view of Mardi and Annapurna Mountain from the base camp. Today’s stay for the day will also be at the High Camp.

Day 07 High camp to Siding village (walking 6 hours)

Today you’ll trek back to Siding village downhill for 6-7 hours. You’ll stay the night at Siding and your trek ends at this point.

Day 08 Drive from Siding village to Pokhara then flight to Kathmandu. Driving 3:30 hours & flight 30 minutes

    Good to Know

    Q. Do you provide any gears for trekking?
    A. Yes, we do provide roughly 65 liters one duffel bag, sleeping bag and down jacket to use for trekking without extra charge, if you do not have.
    Q. Can I rent or buy gears in Kathmandu?
    A. You can buy or rent trekking boots and rest of the gears, you need to need to buy.
    Q. How much weight does porter carries?
    A. We do provide one porter between 2 trekkers. One porter carries 25 to 30 kg respectively.
    Q. How much weight does airplane allow to Lukla?
    A. Twin Otter and Dornier planes are the primary mode of transport to and from the airstrip at Lukla. It allows 15kg per passenger, including had bag.
    Q. Can I take some more gears for paying extra charge?
    A. It is hard but some time, they do allow 2 to 3 kg with paying extra charge US$ 2 per kg
    Q. When Should I pack my gears?
    A. You will have pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu that night you pack trekking gears.
    Q. What equipment should I carry at Daypack?
    A. Most of our day packs have a capacity of roughly 20 to 24 liters. You need to carry only day use things like water bottle, light jackets, some extra shocks, sun hat, sunglasses, raincoat, light glove, scarf, toilet paper, and small towel, camera, some personal medical, Sunscreen, Passport, money, camera, trekking poles and some snacks. Rest of the gears will be carried by porter.
    Q. Can I store suitcase and other unnecessary gears in hotel in Kathmandu or at your office?
    A. Yes, you can store either at the hotel in Kathmandu or at our office without extra charge.

     Travel Insurance

    Travel insurance is compulsory for all Clients undertaking any tour. It should provide adequate protection for the full duration of the tour to cover personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, helicopter evacuation, loss of luggage, etc. For your kind information, we would like to give a list of the insurance companies, please inquire with them.
